I wanted to share some of the images from Alaska! We had a great time, even with all the rain and stubborn un-setting sun!

These first images are from our extra long lay-over in Seattle - which turned out to be sunny and warm. Unfortunately, we had a disposable camera, so some of the Pike's Market images are underexposed.

This is one of my favorite images!

These guys were amazing and funky! The band name is The Walkin' Pesos, I highly recommend taking a listen.

This was an incredible store with vintage clothing, and I picked up a card, but now I can't find it, otherwise I would post their information.

We stayed at the Hampton for a couple of nights and they have done a wonderful job with branding. Everywhere you look they have interesting black and white photographs - much like eye candy (which I love!)

This may seem strange, to photograph a cup of coffee, and I'm sure 10 minutes into it the Baritsta's were wondering what I was up too... But it was so beautiful, I didn't want my husband to drink it before I captured the perfect image!

It rained so hard one day, we couldn't get out of the car...

This was the bedroom at one of our other hotels.

This is part of the Alaskan pipeline.

This is a map of the Alaskan pipeline.

For crazy people, like us, they have rooms that are -40F. Not sure why we agreed to pay to go into the room... They gave us a cup of warm water to throw into the air, and it disintegrated before it hit the ground. Totally crazy! Mine actually froze and broke all over the ground because I didn't throw it high enough.

Outside the crazy room, my glasses fogged over - and stayed that way for about 5 minutes.

Here is a picture of my fogged glasses, with a fogged camera lens.

This cemetery was amazing! It was a historical cemetery in Fairbanks and after we had been there a while the caretaker came and told us some fascinating stories.

This soldier's dog tags are actually mounted on his tomb! The story is, he drowned in a lake. And he hated to swim. Not only that, he was constantly being written up for being a sloppy dresser and his clothes were found on the shore folded perfectly. The theory is he had been seen with "Russian men" and they may have done away with him for one reason or another.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
