Boulder Family Pictures, Sandy, Heather and Kim

What a roller coaster of weather for this mini-session!  First it was raining when we got there, then the sun came out, then the clouds rolled in again and then the wind came up and just about blew us out of Chautauqua!  It was some crazy wind that was insistent!
These guys were so much fun!  They could just look at each other and the laughter started!  There were a lot of 1 word mutterings or whispers that started them all giggling.  I loved seeing how close they all were.  And Alyssa (yes, I did her senior pictures the same day!) was so loved and adored!  Love that so much!
Here is one of the moments grandma said something highly inappropriate!  Alyssa was perhaps a bit shocked.  It is a good thing my photography brain kicked in so I could take the picture and laugh gently.  Otherwise, this moment would be lost and all that would be there would be a blur.

Such a group of wonderful women!  Alyssa has so much love and support!  She must be a rock star!
One of my favorites!  Sometimes it seems strange to do pictures with your mom, but there is nothing more precious!  I adore seeing these relationships!
I love all of these!  We almost weren't able to do Alyssa and her mom because of the wind.  But I was determined that it would happen!  The mom and daughter one is one of my favorites for Senior pictures - whether mom has makeup on or not.  And her mom was totally ready, makeup and all!  They will treasure that one years and years later!  I did have to do some photoshop magic on the flying hair, but I had to make this one happen!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
