Ice Castle, Silverthorne

We went to the Ice Castle in Silverthorne this weekend, it was one of the greatest days I've had in a long time!  We took our old foreign exchange student - perhaps I will stray from this story for just a bit to explain why she is "old".  We had a foreign exchange student, Michelle.  She and our son Nick decided to date...  Not a great idea in the eyes of the foundation that brought her here, so she had to go live in another home.  It was a very hard time for all of us, especially Makaela and Aidan (they were really too young to understand why.)  I really wish it could have been a different way, it is very hard to see her in another home doing the things we planned on doing with her.  We do try to spend time with her, but it has been hard between our schedule and her new families schedule.  So, that is why she is our "old" foreign exchange student.
This is Michelle (on the left) and her friend Sophie (on the right), aren't they so cute???

Makaela took this shot and I think it is fabulous!

There are a few things that I find I love to photograph, things I never thought about photographing until I do.  One of these things is candy apples.  I LOVE to photograph them!  They are so colorful, creative and yummy looking.  The funny things is I haven't eaten a candy apple since I was a kid.  I had promised Makaela one before she got braces, but then we couldn't find any and now she can't have one - so sad!  I may just change my focus and open a candy apple photography studio...  Yeah, probably not....  It sure would be different though.

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Avery Senior Pictures, Denver Botanic Gardens

Avery is one of my incredible Senior Influencers, and she totally rocked her session! From the very beginning, she was ready to go!  Every pose I put her in, she made look amazing — it made photographing her an absolute joy. We started at the Denver Botanic Gardens, which was the perfect backdrop for her session. Everywhere we turned there were stunning plants, colorful flowers, and hidden little corners. Avery looked so natural — it was like the gardens were showing off just for her! After exploring the gardens, we headed over to Cheesman Park to slow things down a bit. The vibe there was more relaxed, with gorgeous light. It gave us the perfect mix of elegance and laid-back charm, and Avery’s personality shone through every single shot.   This session was such a fun combination of vibrant and chill, and Avery made it all look effortless. I can’t wait to share more from her senior year as one of my Influencers—she’s truly a star in front of the camera! I just l...

Isaak's Senior Pictures, Boulder

Isaak was so easygoing and genuinely amazing to be around!  He wanted his senior pictures at sunset in Boulder, which is always a hit or a miss. There’s just something about that golden light hitting the rocks and mountains that makes everything feel magical. The only catch? Everyone else thinks so too. I picked this spot years ago because hardly anyone goes there. But this time, when we showed up, it was packed ! I couldn’t believe it. I was like, really?? Why here, today of all days? As it turns out, a sweet group of friends was setting up for a surprise proposal right in the middle of our spot. I mean, adorable, but also, the timing!  But honestly, that’s one of the things I love about my job, something unexpected always happens. Whether it’s weather changes, running late, surprise events, or wardrobe hiccups, it's always a challenge! And every single time, it ends up being even better than what I planned. We wandered off a bit and found these incredible rocks off...
