Denver Family Pictures, CPAC Family Day

And...  Here it is!  The Colorado Photographic Arts Center Family Day!  Here are a few images from each session.  I had the greatest time this year!  I met some of the greatest families, saw some of the greatest smiles and it all warmed my heart immensely!
It was rather fun to start the day off with these two beautiful sisters and their beau's.  There were times I could barely lift my camera up to my face because I was laughing so hard - can't share the jokes here, I try and keep it very PG.  But alas, it was fun!
 There were some shenanigans...
 And nice smiles too!

All I said was stand tummy to tummy...  Crazy people!
I couldn't resist getting a shot of the socks!

I photographed this family last year too and I was very excited to see them again this year.  I swore the kids didn't look a year older, it was like it had been a few months and that was all.
 Love these!
Even though there was lots of wrangling for smiles, I think these guys are very realistic about what to expect from their kiddos.  They didn't put lots of pressure on the kids to behave or smile.  I think their kids will love having their pictures taken when they are older - and that is the better than getting perfect pictures now.

 Love these sweet faces!

These guys were so amazing and full of fun-ness!  The girls were so excited and of course that spread to me and then we were off!

You can just see what a loving family this is!  I adored their closeness.

 So cute!
I took pictures of these guys last year too and the baby was just a few months old and now look at him!  He's walking!

Isn't he just adorable??  Love this little guy!  It was grand, they were bribing him with chicken!  Not candy - chicken!  They said he didn't really like sweet things, but he loved chicken.  So very cute!

I know I am sounding like a broken record, but I was so excited to see this family again too.  And I was extra excited to see their dog Mochi.  He is the fluffiest sweetest dog ever!

I love these!  They are such a wonderfully loving family, it is so hard not to just smile thinking about them!

Lydia and Scott had me laughing.   I felt more like I was hanging out with friends and I just happened to have a camera with me.

Ditto.  Ditto.  Ditto.  Only this time these kids did look a little bit older this year (they had been walking last year, so I'm not sure how this growing up and looking older thing works.)  I have to say how proud of Eva I am, she could show her brother love and she could also show her brother how annoyed she was too.  She is very well rounded!
Terren was such a wonderful kid too!  So full of smiles and had tons of enthusiasm.  When I asked him to skip and he didn't get it right the first time, he kept doing it until he got it right - even when I told him not to worry about it.

When I saw Susan's name on my list, I thought I recognized it, but I didn't recognize her.  The only thing I could think is that she knew my Aunt or was somehow related to her.  There were so many similarities to my Aunt, the way they walked and carried themselves and the way they smiled.  I didn't put it together right away, but the next day I thought about my Aunt a lot and then it hit me how similar they were.  It was nice to think about my Aunt so much, she passed away a few years ago and it's always good to remember such lovely people.

Atley was such a great girl, she did everything I asked and with a fabulous smile on her face.  We did pictures in front of this wall and I couldn't wait to see them, until I saw them and she was bathed in red on her left side.... I probably should have seen that coming...  But it looks fabulous in black and white.

I was very flattered with these guys.  Brian had his Senior Pictures done this summer and his mom asked me to just try some because she wanted some that were more him.  I did and the images she saw on the back of the camera she loved.  And then I did a few pictures of their daughter Mora, everyone said that Mora didn't like to smile.  I did get her to smile and I thought it was a really good one too!  I felt like maybe, just maybe I was doing my job right this time!  It doesn't always work out that way.

This was the perfect family to end with!  The kids were very enthusiastic and it gave me just enough energy to finish off the day!
 Aren't they just scrumptious???

As I was taking pictures of his brother and sister, this little guy was killing ants.  I just couldn't resist taking a few of him squashing those pesky ants!  He had to get on the ground to make sure he was actually getting them.
She was so excited to have her picture taken, I could have spent the entire afternoon with just her!  We would have had a great time together!

This is perhaps my favorite image from the entire day!

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Avery Senior Pictures, Denver Botanic Gardens

Avery is one of my incredible Senior Influencers, and she totally rocked her session! From the very beginning, she was ready to go!  Every pose I put her in, she made look amazing — it made photographing her an absolute joy. We started at the Denver Botanic Gardens, which was the perfect backdrop for her session. Everywhere we turned there were stunning plants, colorful flowers, and hidden little corners. Avery looked so natural — it was like the gardens were showing off just for her! After exploring the gardens, we headed over to Cheesman Park to slow things down a bit. The vibe there was more relaxed, with gorgeous light. It gave us the perfect mix of elegance and laid-back charm, and Avery’s personality shone through every single shot.   This session was such a fun combination of vibrant and chill, and Avery made it all look effortless. I can’t wait to share more from her senior year as one of my Influencers—she’s truly a star in front of the camera! I just l...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...
