My Little Man

I have this wall in our living room and I thought I would print a large canvas of our family and hang it.  When I did, it looked soooo small!  I thought I would print pictures of the kids and hang them around the family picture.  I didn't want to do pictures from that session, I wanted to do something else, but I didn't quite know what.  Well... that was years ago!  I have had a lot of time to figure it out.  And one day it came to me!  I had my daughter's picture and I would use one of my oldest son from Ireland, but I didn't have any of the little guy...  I wanted to do something that represented him like the other pictures represented his siblings.  I saw this beautiful tree next to the water and I thought - 'that's it!' He loves theater, so I put him in a top hat, a nice shirt, tried to get him out of jeans and put on some nicer shoes, but sometimes you just have to go with what you have.
These incredible images were taken by Janine Walker in Ireland.  She is brilliant and I want to be just like her.  Just in America.  Wait... no, I could do it in Ireland.  Well, maybe Belize.  Somewhere with a warm beach.  Year round flip flop weather.  Yes, that would be better.
I can't decide between these two images, I suppose I better decide or it will be another couple of years....
Here are my Little Man's images.  These too, I cannot decide on....

This of course is my favorite - minus the truck and street lights, but by far soooo cute!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
