Denver Portrait Photography, Karly and her wonderful daughter

When Karly called me about doing this session, I was so excited!  I love the idea of the mother daughter session and I loved that they would be wearing matching 1950's dresses!  I was bummed, as the day drew nearer the weather didn't look great... When the day arrived, we did not have the ideal weather for this!  I really wanted sunshine and blue skies at a ice cream shop, but instead we had heavy clouds and sporadic rain. We decided to do Cheeseman Park and then see if we could go to an ice cream shop after that.  Karly asked me what we would do if there was a wedding at Cheeseman and I didn't think it would be a problem because I haven't seen a wedding there all summer - and I have been there a lot this summer.  I guess she was right, there was a wedding that they were setting up for.  I was really bummed, I had planned so many things to do there and we were stuck at one end of the pavilion with table and chair carts all around us.  But we did what we could and it looked like the weather would hold out to go to Little Man Ice Cream - which I was really excited about!  It isn't often you get to photograph a sweet little girl there!  And I figured how many people would be getting ice cream on such a dreary day??  Well, I was wrong.  Again. There were tons of people. Getting ice cream on a cold rainy day.  And I still haven't had their ice cream, so I don't know if it is that good.  And it started to rain...  Luckily, it wasn't a whole lot.  And with all that complaining, it was still an amazing time!  This little girl is adorably cute and active and smart and curious and everywhere!   All I could do is giggle at her vivaciousness!  And yet, she is so gentle.  She really is amazing!

I love these by the flowers!

I love this one!  She was so gentle while smelling the flowers.  And I can safely say, no flowers were harmed - I cannot say that about all of my sessions involving flowers.
I really want to do more portraits here!  As busy as it was, it was fun and such a cool spot!
LOVE!  LOVE! LOVE!

We weren't going to do any with dad, but I am really glad we did!  I love how they turned out!

 Such a loved little one!
And finally!  She was able to put her sweater on!  She even gave me a hug and kiss before I left - it totally made my day!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
