Golden Senior Pictures, Madison

Madison is so incredibly elegant and beautiful, it was a dream working with her! I love how I was able to capture some very different expressions and looks, not everyone is as versatile as she is! It was so funny how connected we are and didn't even know it! I met her at Corah Couture, I have done fashions shoots with them in the past. Madison helped with a video I did for What to Wear. Her mom worked for Coors in Golden, where my parents worked and where I grew up. And the kicker, her brother took classes at the School of Mines from my brother-in-law. It was all so surreal as we were talking about all the different connections and almost connections we had. I am glad we finally connected!

This was such a hard image to get!  I had this idea, but in my head it was very different than what I was seeing as we were photographing.  Sometimes imagination doesn't match the reality!   I was having a hard time articulating what I was seeing in my head, and when we left I thought it hadn't worked and I just wouldn't use those images.  And then I saw this and loved it!
I said jump and she did.  And then I had to back up and do it again because she was jumping out of the frame.  I should have known with those long legs she could jump high!

I love this dress!  It is so cute!  And she looks fantastic in it!

love these two!  It looks like she is having so much fun!  And that is what it is all about!  Having fun!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
