Boulder Senior Pictures, Kylee

This was the third time we had scheduled Kylee's Senior Pictures, weather just kept interfering! And the day we finally did them was like a roller coaster of temperatures. In the beginning, it was in the 60's, but felt like the 40's. And then it climbed up and before we switched locations it was almost 70 degrees! And then of course the temperature dropped a lot as the sun started to go down. And Kylee did great through the whole thing! Didn't complain too much - she did borrow my white fluffy coat, but that is partially what it's there for! I am sure her parents are so proud of this girl! She is graduating early, a year early! She has so much drive and passion about traveling - I really hope she can figure out ways to make it happen! And best of all, she is interested in photography! That makes me so happy!

I adore how willing she was to do things!  I had soooo many ideas and every single one I had, she was on board!  If the sun (and temperature) hadn't gone down we could have photographed for another hour!

I loved it when she laughed!  It was fantastic!

I love this one!

Kylee put on the sunglasses because it was so bright and I think it totally makes this image!  I was going to use an image with her eyes open, but I loved this one so much!

This was when we were doing the hair shaky thing I like to do and I just loved the stillness.  Even though the point was to have her hair move, I loved this image without the moving hair.
I love this one!

I am always so grateful when parents get in the picture!  I am fully aware this is all about the Senior, but they couldn't be where they are if their parents weren't there!  And I love to be able to give them some credit, because they deserve it!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
