Boulder Senior Pictures, Liam

I have known this kid for years and years! He and my son were friends in elementary school and I have been so lucky to get to know him and his family! Liam is such an incredible gymnast; he just amazes me with what he can do - like how can he do that?? If I could put memes here, there would be one of a jaw on the floor. We had to reschedule his session twice! The first time I had been exposed to covid and the second time it poured rain, which we couldn't even be mad at because we needed it so bad! We were so lucky this day, it was beautiful in the beginning and as we started to leave the 1st location, it started to rain. I was a little worried that our next stop it would be raining too, but luckily it was moody clouds and a bit sunny – which made for some amazing skies all around the mountains! It was so amazing!

One of the things I love about Boulder Falls is all the rocks!  So many rocks with tons of character!

This is really why we were there!  The falls!  They are just amazing!  I am always so paranoid here and telling people don't go too far, be careful, crawl on all fours, etc... and as I am saying all this there are people - PEOPLE!  swimming in the water like it's no big deal that so much water is pouring over the edge with such force!  I really wasn't too worried about Liam because he is so athletic, he just made climbing all over the rocks look easy!

The character in these rocks!  So amazing!

Almost all of Liam's family came, his brother lives in New York and he couldn't make it, not sure why... but the rest were all there!  I love it when it is a whole family event!  It was fantastic because one of his siblings was taking pictures the whole time (be still my beating heart!) and they got some fantastic images of the mountains and their sister too!  I wish I had had more time to play around with them!
Max with their camera!  It is awesome when young ones get to explore and be artistic!

I was a little worried about this, Liam was having back surgery shortly after our session, but he wanted to do it.  (He has had back surgery and it went well and he is at home healing!)

He has such a great smile!

We were done... and then I saw this light... I am so lucky Liam still had a few more pictures in him!

Sibling love! I love this one!  These kids are all so fantastic, I feel like so much of my life is more enriched by what they have all done and are doing!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
