Boulder Senior Pictures, Westley

When Westley's mom first emailed me I knew I recognized her name, I just couldn't remember where from. And then when I showed up I remembered that Westley had been in theater with my son and his mom helped a lot too. I was so excited to see them! And Westley looks just like he did then, only older. And with a beard. I guess that was a big difference. And he is much chattier than he was as a child. He was so delightful to talk to, I definitely photographed longer than normal because I loved talking with him and his mom!

His mom kept telling him to smile and he was like I am!  He was cracking me up, he had 3 different smiles and there was a process to them. His first one was upturned lips, the next was a very decent smile that I thought was great and then he would have this moment where he had a contemplative look on his face and the he would erupt into an amazing smile - so much better than the second one.  That last one was my favorite.  And I loved watching his face go through all those stages!  And I really want to know how he got to that last one, there had to be something absolutely crazy going through his mind!

That hair!  It is so marvelous!

I love his mom!  She definitely enjoys life and that is one of the best qualities to model for your children in my opinion.  I think she has done a fantastic job as a parent, she is very inspiring.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
