Tim and Rachel, Hudson Gardens

Tim and Rachael come highly recommended from the people who them to me. I always love these cross connections to people and then I get to see them through their friends eyes. I have always adored the people who gave Tim the recommendation and then hearing him and his kids talk about them made me more fond of them. Photography really is a special gift to everyone, including the photographer!

Tim and Rachel showed up a little early to do just their pictures and it was a good they did!  By the time the grandkids arrived, there was craziness all around!

I love how these two care about each other!  It was so apparent in how they were with each other and that just makes me so happy!

Uhhhhhh.... trying to get 2 cousins who adore each other in movement is not an easy thing to get them to sit!  From the beginning to the end of attempting to capture these 3 together, it was 3 minutes and that included some rearranging.  For adults that's fast, but for toddlers that's an eternity!

The best comment of the day happened while I was taking these.  His dad said that this was his villan origin story - the being woken up from a nap, not being able to play in the dirt and being barefoot in December (it really wasn't that cold) on a path with a strange lady overly smiling at someone can tip anyone over the edge.  But I still think it is stinking adorable!

I love this one!  It so reminds me so much of early childhood photography (when shutter speeds were faster and you could take images of things that moved!)  He looks absolutely precious!

This little guy was a lot harder to get pictures of!  (Insert me laughing hysterically!)  I don't know if he had just woken up, but he wasn't about to smile for me!  There were too many distractions, his brother and cousin, grass, leaves, sticks, dirt.  I was just not as interesting!  And I had cleaned my bag out of baby toys for my last wedding and never reloaded them.  And he has the cutest smile!  Like cutest smile ever!

I love the light and how buttery golden it is!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
