Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!  It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books.

And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball.

About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!  I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that!

Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes you feel instantly at ease. One of my favorite things about her is how deeply connected she is with her family. It’s clear in the way that they all were together. That kind of closeness is beautiful to witness and even more special to capture in photos.

I walked away from this session feeling so inspired — by Elli’s spirit, her kindness, and her excitement for what’s ahead. I’m so grateful this was my first full senior session. It set the bar high, and I can’t wait for many more just like it.

Elli, thank you for trusting me to capture this moment in your life. You’re going to do amazing things — I just know it.

I love her smile in this one!  It is pure delight!
Love, love, love this one!

And then the rain started...  but everything was gorgeous after that!

All these gorgeous colors!

I love the colors and just how playful this one is!  So cute!

I adore this one!

This rock sculpture on Pearl Street is always such a fun spot!

I love this on of Elli walking across the street! And the fact that there are hardly any people around her was amazing! I didn't even have to edit those people out (I did edit out many other people in many other images!)

Her mom suggested doing pictures by the Peppercorn, which I loved!  They have the best windows!

I love these with her family!  They are all so sweet!

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
