Finley and Friends

These girls! What fun they were! And the energy they all have! I am in awe how they can contain it all! This was Finley's 14 birthday and her parents wanted to do a celebratory photo session for that and because they will all be freshman next year. The last time I saw Finley, she was a baby, so her being 14 was a shock! I loved being able to document this time in their lives because everything is about to change. High School will just be this whole new grand adventure into adulthood and who they are now is going to blossom into something else. It truly is a wonderful time!

I love this!  It is amazing to have so many friends who love you so much!

I adore this!  All the phones!  They just cracked me up!

These were so much fun! And let me tell you, I have done this with smaller groups and they haven’t been as in sync as this group.  They have were fantastic!

The light was so amazing! It’s like butter!  I absolutely love this spot at Hudson Gardens in the evening!

I don’t really know what they were doing—just a chaotic frenzy of movement and laughter tumbling through the sunlight. It was wild, unfiltered joy. When you’ve stepped beyond childhood and catch a glimpse of it unfolding in front of you, it feels both nostalgic and strangely unfamiliar, like remembering a dream you didn’t know you missed.  And yet it is so familiar, you wish you could go back there and be that person that still had so much in front of them.  Just for a little while.  To remember what being in a sun beam was really like.

I love this one so much!  Thank you Stacey for having me photograph this amazing time in Finley’s life!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
