Lexi and Pat's Engagement

I am so excited about these engagement pictures!!! Eeeek! This is my lovely niece and her fiance! I was a little extra nervous doing these! First we were in Oregon and I was unfamiliar with the locations, which isn't usually a problem for me, I love new locations! But it is still a little nerve wracking! And second, I wasn't familiar with the light where we were and everything is so green! And green is a hard color to get along with in pictures! So I was a little bit nervous! But once we started, it went lovely! We had so much fun!

It was so funny, I told them to lean over and kiss each other and there were some misses and near misses.  I hadn't realized how hard this would be, but it made for some great images!

I love these in the grass with the little white flowers!

I just love how cute these two are!  And I absolutely love the spot they picked out to do these!  Doris Ranch is such a special place!

One of my favorite parts of this session was when Pat leaned over to Lexi and said you look so beautiful.  This would be one of my favorite parts of any engagement session, but it meant so much extra hearing it said to my niece.  She deserves such marvelousness!  And Pat is that!  He adores her so much!  And Lexi adores him just as much.  I love how tender they are with each other, it is so sweet.

There is this wonderful tree stump where people leave things.  There are usually flowers, rocks and things.  Lexi and Pat wanted to do their ring pictures here and I love how they came out!  It's like they fit here perfectly.

I love, love, LOVE these!  They are so sweet!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
