Teddy Bear Post

Somewhere between preschool drop-off and senior year, we lost track of time and now that teddy bear that brand new and fuzzy is worn and loved.

Seniors, you’ve been becoming yourself for years. Little by little, you’ve discovered your passions, found your people, and grown into someone uniquely you. The future is calling, and it’s exciting to watch you step toward it.
To the parents, I get it. It feels like yesterday you were zipping up that tiny backpack, wiping away tears, and wondering if they’d be okay without you for a few hours. Now they’re standing in a cap and gown, talking about college, careers, and adventures of their own. It’s hard to let go. And as any natural event in our lives, we get to let go and watch our beautiful children step more into their own.

This is why the teddy bear matters. This was when they were ours to hold, protect and love fiercely.

This is why the cap matters. This is now, when we get to hold, protect and love fiercely. But with boundaries and a little bit more permission.

They’re a reminder that the little one you carried isn’t really gone. They’ve simply grown into the person they were always meant to be.

Senior photos aren’t just for graduation. They’re for remembering who they were, celebrating who they’ve become, and holding onto this beautiful, bittersweet season for just a little longer.

Because one day, you’ll look at these images and swear they were just in preschool.

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Avery Senior Pictures, Denver Botanic Gardens

Avery is one of my incredible Senior Influencers, and she totally rocked her session! From the very beginning, she was ready to go!  Every pose I put her in, she made look amazing — it made photographing her an absolute joy. We started at the Denver Botanic Gardens, which was the perfect backdrop for her session. Everywhere we turned there were stunning plants, colorful flowers, and hidden little corners. Avery looked so natural — it was like the gardens were showing off just for her! After exploring the gardens, we headed over to Cheesman Park to slow things down a bit. The vibe there was more relaxed, with gorgeous light. It gave us the perfect mix of elegance and laid-back charm, and Avery’s personality shone through every single shot.   This session was such a fun combination of vibrant and chill, and Avery made it all look effortless. I can’t wait to share more from her senior year as one of my Influencers—she’s truly a star in front of the camera! I just l...

Isaak's Senior Pictures, Boulder

Isaak was so easygoing and genuinely amazing to be around!  He wanted his senior pictures at sunset in Boulder, which is always a hit or a miss. There’s just something about that golden light hitting the rocks and mountains that makes everything feel magical. The only catch? Everyone else thinks so too. I picked this spot years ago because hardly anyone goes there. But this time, when we showed up, it was packed ! I couldn’t believe it. I was like, really?? Why here, today of all days? As it turns out, a sweet group of friends was setting up for a surprise proposal right in the middle of our spot. I mean, adorable, but also, the timing!  But honestly, that’s one of the things I love about my job, something unexpected always happens. Whether it’s weather changes, running late, surprise events, or wardrobe hiccups, it's always a challenge! And every single time, it ends up being even better than what I planned. We wandered off a bit and found these incredible rocks off...
