Boulder Senior Pictures, Karina

Karina is such a sweet young lady!  We were supposed to do her Senior Pictures the weekend before, but we were rained out.  I think we were lucky because the colors were absolutely perfect!  And the colors she chose went so well with the fall colors!  We did have some craziness...  Part way through the session, a bunch of people showed up in the parking lot.  They were lining up, very orderly.  I thought is was a race or something, but it was obvious that they were homeless, so I was a little confused.  Karina's mom thought it might be a protest of some kind.  We couldn't figure it out.  Then a truck with emergency supplies showed to feed them and hand other supplies.  I thought it was so strange how low key and quiet they all were!  A good thing because poor Karina was changing clothes in the car.

I love this image!  She looks fabulous!

And I really LOVE this image!  Her eyes match her clothes so well and the light on her hair is wonderful!

Somehow Blogger has fused these 2 images together!  But I actually liked them together, so I am going to keep them that way!
I love the red shirt!

Here is Karina and her marvelous family!
She had really wanted to shots on the swings, I was really glad the light held out long enough!
Her family was awesome!  They were very fun to hang out with for an afternoon!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
