Thornton, Colorado High School Senior Pictures, Kiara

I love how Kiara's pictures came out!  When we first met, she was ready to go.  There was very little warming up time.  So often it takes 10-15 minutes for someone to warm up to having their pictures taken - especially by yourself.  Kiara just jumped right in and we went!  I loved that she could smile and not smile and they both looked fabulous!
Kiara brought a friend with her and it was awesome to hear them talk.  It wasn't all that mind blowing, just a glimpse into teenagers - I am sure a little watered down, I am an adult after all.  but, to be a teenager and have that wonder of the new world of adult hood as it opens up!  There is such new responsibilities and freedoms that become more and more a part of your everyday life, until they become boring and not noticed.  For the rest of the day, I noticed all the things that I take for granted, the things I couldn't wait to do as a young adult.  And yeah, being an adult can suck, but we all used to want to be here.  And it used to be fun!

I love how the colors she picked worked together with the colors around her!  Even her hair looked awesome with the grasses and the trees.

I love all these in the grass!  It was really hard not to just pick these!
I just got some new Photoshop actions and I have been playing with them, but not really liking the results.  But I keep trying out all the different combinations hoping I will like something.  I think I finally found some!  I love the muted tones in these!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
