Denver Engagement Photography, Katie and Chris

It has taken me so long to do these.  It always does, doesn't it??  I had them done days ago and then I was overtaken with other deadlines, children... And a cold that if you could hear me talk, you would tell me to go back to bed and stop infecting everyone within a 10 mile radius.  But here they are!  And I am so excited!

I was so excited (again, I was excited. Because I am always excited.) to do Katie and Chris' engagement session!  I think every couple is fascinating and fun, but sometimes you just click more with some of them.  And maybe it's because I worked with Chris for years and am super excited he is getting married (HE IS GETTING MARRIED!!) or maybe it's because they are really cool!  I am going to go with they are really cool!  They are!  And funny!  And cute together!  When they first showed up, I was delighted by what they chose to wear!  Katie thought they looked like Easter Eggs, but I thought they looked sassy and cute!  Not that Chris is sassy or cute, but Katie definitely was!  And Chris is a little bit.... sassy like.  None of which I show here.
As you can see we did their pictures at Union Station, a lovely place to do pictures.  I love the attention to detail they used while redesigning Union Station.  I wish there were more places like it in Denver, maybe then all of us photographers wouldn't flock to it like dehydrated animals to water.

I love this image so much!  They are so stinkin' cute!

I really like this one as well!  The light was so perfect!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
