Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day. There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect.

Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was!

We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff  Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out, working with mylar outdoors in the slightest breeze is a lot trickier than I imagined! But Grace was so patient and totally up for the experiment. And the best part? She still looked amazing, even when the mylar had a mind of its own!

That kind of session is my favorite—not because everything goes exactly to plan (because let’s be real, it rarely does), but because of the laughter, the spontaneity, and the shared joy of creating something beautiful together.

Grace, thank you for your sunshine spirit, your patience, and your incredible modeling skills. I loved every second of this session with you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things your senior year holds!

I love this one!

Her smile is so amazing!

The mylar... I plan on playing more!  Because really this was fun!

I love this one!  She has the greatest hair!

At a previous session on Pearl Street, I saw the pouf Grace is sitting on.  I went back to buy it and I am so glad I did!

I love this one!

I had the absolute joy of doing Grace’s sisters senior pictures a few years ago and totally adored their mom. This time, her dad came along and I was like—okay, they just have the best family! So kind, so supportive, and such a joy to be around. It’s families like this that make what I do so meaningful.
On top of Flagstaff Mountain, we had the best sunset.  It only lasted a little bit, but it was so gorgeous!  And we had some amazing clouds too!  It was just perfect!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
