Aubrey Senior Pictures, Cheeseman Park

From the beginning of the session, I knew Aubrey’s session was going to be something special. She brought so much joy, energy, and heart with her. Everything I asked her to do—whether it was twirling or skipping—she did it all with the kind of enthusiasm that’s totally contagious. I couldn’t stop smiling because of her exceptional positivity!  Usually, there’s a little warm-up time at the beginning of a session while we ease into things, but with Aubrey, it felt like we jumped straight into the magic. It was all smiles, movement, and pure fun right from the start!

I love these vines!  They happen to be on a fence of someone's property... but it's on the side of Cheeseman Park, so that's ok right???
I adore her smile!
I had planned on using the flowers at the pavilion, but with her hair color I just couldn't wait! So clipping of the flowers I went!

I love skipping pictures!  And I just have to say that Aubrey, brought all the energy and fun of what I want when I ask Seniors to skip.  If I could have her do a tutorial to get Seniors to do it with this much gusto, I would!

I can't even describe how to pose like this and get such a natural and fun look!  She was such a natural!

I am so glad they are adding water to the water features again!  The water at Cheesman Park always add a little something extra and makes the park somehow more fun.  There’s just something about the sparkle, reflections, and that beautiful blue that makes everything feel a bit more magical (and a lot more fun)!
The thing that was so great about this area for Aubrey was that she wants to be an architect.  So much about this neighborhood and the park is fabulous for that!  It was great to listen to her talk about the aesthetics of the park and the light!  You can just tell she has a true passion for architecture.

There were so many people at the pavilion on the day we did her session.  So many more than I am used to seeing!  It was very hard to keep them out of the pictures!  What with the dance class, the person doing Tai Chi behind her and the 5 other photo sessions happening around us!  We really didn't get to use the pavilion as much as I wanted to.  I'm glad it's a happening place and not like it used to be - sketchy and maybe not the safest place to be.  But it would be nice to not be so crowded!
I love the light on this one!

We went out into the neighborhood and did some there!  I love this neighborhood so much!  But so many people say they don't want to see houses in the background, but not Aubrey!  I'm thinking we didn't get enough house in the background!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
