Eagle Ridge High School, Brighton, Co Senior Pictures, Makaela

This is a very hard post to write.  This is my little girl and she is going to be a High School Senior this year.  I've already done this once with her older brother, so I didn't think it would be so hard.  But it has been harder than I thought.  I don't think she is old enough to be a Senior...

We have talked about doing her pictures for a while, she really wanted to do some cosplay pictures.  She wanted to cosplay as a Hetalia character; Sealand if anyone knows who that is.  We were going to be near Salt Lake City and I thought the Great Salt Lake would be a great place to do some of the pictures.  When we arrived, we went to the Great Saltair and the owner was so amazingly nice and told us where to go and what to do and lent us this marvelous umbrella.  She was so gracious and wonderful.  I really appreciated her generosity!
We plan on doing more pictures somewhere else, but I thought I would do some ones that weren't cosplay while we were there.  Here is a sneak peak.

I love these on the salty beach!  It was such an amazing beach!

I am a bit jealous of Salt Lake City photographers!  The water here is amazing!  It is so glassy and smooth!  I could have stayed all evening and just photographed the water.

Here are some of her cosplaying as Sealand.
Here are some of the 'extras' I took as we walked out there.

They were looking at the funky brine shrimp that they hadn't noticed until I said something was hitting my feet.  They were both disgustedly fascinated.  But not disgusted enough to get out of the water.

This is the umbrella that I love so much!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
