Golden Family Pictures, Kristen and Mark

I have known these boys for a very long time and man how they have grown!  One of them is a junior in high school!  In fact, next year they will all be in high school.  It is so unbelievable how big they have gotten!  The one thing that has remained the same is the being on the edge of my seat hoping that they don't break something while we are out and about! It has perhaps less perilous as they get older, but just a bit...  And in some ways it's more perilous as they egg each other on to go higher or faster.  I don't know how Kristen does it!
Here a few links to this marvelous families past sessions!  I am so lucky to have been a small part of their lives!  Getting to watch families grow and do life is the number reason I love my job!

I love this image!

If ever there was a mom that was all that, a bag of chips and more, it would be Kristen.  She is amazing!  And I love how she is so present with each boy and in the way that they need her.  She can be fierce.  Crazy.  Funny.  Loving.  Kind.  She truly is the total package and these boys know how lucky they are to have such an amazing mom!

Boys!  I bet their house is always moving, loud and fun!

Kristen wanted to recreate some images from long, long ago (before I blogged and on backup drives that are buried.)  She showed me these from her phone and I so remember that day and how much I fell in love with her boys back then!

Trust me, if I had been able to get the boys to do this, I would have!

I had told them we were done and then way across the river I noticed that they had put some lights on the bridge... Kristen was good with walking over to the bridge, I'm not sure that any of the boys were, but they all followed!  I was so glad because I love these!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
