California Senior Pictures, Jakob

I was in California for a weekend and my sweet nephew asked if I could do his senior pictures!  You can only imagine how excited I was!  I was able to boss him around and make him do all the things I wanted him to do!  Just kidding!  But I was able to convince him to do things that I don't always have the opportunity to do with other students - like photograph him playing video games, something he does all the time!  We had a blast doing so many different kinds of pictures and different places!  It was fantastic! 

 We went to this lovely park near his house and it was so much fun with all the strange trees!



 I love this one!  The trees and leaves all over the ground were beautiful!


 We even went to downtown Morgan Hill - it was the cutest downtown!  And we found some really cool spots!

 I love the light in California, it really is dreamy!
 Jakob is in video production classes and loving it!  So we decided to stop and do some pictures at the Granada theater, it was such a cool theater!  I love this ceiling!  And the lines and swooshes of the building, it was all so cool!

 I really love this one!  Such a cool spot!

  I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

  Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Alex, Senior Pictures

  When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
