Denver Senior Pictures, Tyler

 I have "known" Tyler for sooooo long! Only because I photographed his aunt's wedding when he was 3 and her and I stay in touch and she tells me things about him, so I wasn't nervous about what we would talk about or anything like that. But then his mom mentioned The IT Crowd and the rest of the session was quotes and favorite moments from that. It was hilarious! I don’t know how people connected before television shows (I mean probably books and poetry…) because it is definitely something that can really provide a ton of conversation!










I wasn't sure if he was going to bring a club or not.  And then he did.  And then we got to the nice green lawn to do the pictures and it started to rain. We had no idea if it would pour or sprinkle or stop - because that's how it's been in Colorado this year.  So annoying!  But we were so lucky and it stopped long enough for us to get some pictures and walk back to our cars without getting drenched.

This was a rare serious face! He always started out great and then I could tell when he would spot his mom, there was an eye twitch and then he burst out in a smile!  It was very funny!

  I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

  Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Alex, Senior Pictures

  When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
