The last time I visited Civic Center Park, the atmosphere felt very different. I was thankful to have my husband and the senior’s dad with me then. Since that time, Denver has put effort into supporting people experiencing homelessness, and I truly hope those efforts are meaningful and lasting—not just shifting challenges from one community to another. I’m grateful to see this space open and welcoming again, because it really is such a beautiful spot. I am so happy that Traven's mom suggested it!
Traven was just a natural at this! Every pose I suggested, he settled into perfectly—as if he had been doing this for years. He made my job so easy, not just with how comfortable he was in front of the camera, but also with how personable he was throughout the session.
As we walked around, we had some really great conversations about life after high school. Traven has such a wide sense of possibility and genuine interest in the world around him. It was inspiring to hear the different directions he’s considering, and I could see that spark of curiosity that will serve him so well no matter what path he takes.
What struck me most was how down-to-earth he is. Traven isn’t just photogenic—he’s a truly kind and grounded young man. I have no doubt he will do amazing things, and I hope he always carries that curiosity and openness with him as he steps into this next chapter of life.
I love this one!
Doesn't he have the greatest laugh??
I love these with his mom! So sweet!
