Personal Post

I had really hoped the best for these two, I wasn't sure what that looked like or how it would end. That was really why I brought them home in the first place, I didn't want them wandering around the park when I could help them.  We named the tan one Mort and the brindle Piper (all the kid's ideas of course, I probably wouldn't have named them until I knew what we were doing with them).  Unfortunately, Mort got sick and we took him to the emergency vet and they tested him for ailments like Parvo and parasites.  Parvo was negative, but there were no definitive parasites.  So we got him some fluids and meds, brought him home and we hoped for the best.  But Tuesday night he passed away.  We took Piper in to the vet on Wednesday and it turns out she has a mild case of Parvo, so it looks like Mort's negative was one of the few false negatives.

It has been a tough week, we put our 15 year old cat down on Monday.  Monday night we were in the emergency vet, Tuesday Mort died and Wednesday Piper went and stayed at the vet.  And we have yet to plant the blackberries the kids bought for our cat.  I don't think what I did was wrong, but in the future if I find a stray I will try harder to get them into a shelter (our city shelter is "open" 24/7 with office hours of M-F 8am-5pm, and there is no support when there are no office hours.  So I'm kind of confused as to how they are "open".)  I am pretty sure whoever owned these two, knew they were sick or had been exposed and dumped them to let someone else take on the problem.  Not to mention exposing an entire park with lots of dogs to Parvo.  We were not expecting to foot such large vet bills this week, nor were we prepared to do so, but I figured if I made the choice to pick them up I was responsible.  I wish their previous owners had been as responsible.

The vet thinks they are about 3 months old. I sure hope Piper makes it to live as long as our cat, if not longer.
Here is my sweet kitty Jocasta, I sure will miss her waking me up at 2 in the morning for some pets or waking me up as she cuddles in closer to my face and tickling me with her fur.

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Avery Senior Pictures, Denver Botanic Gardens

Avery is one of my incredible Senior Influencers, and she totally rocked her session! From the very beginning, she was ready to go!  Every pose I put her in, she made look amazing — it made photographing her an absolute joy. We started at the Denver Botanic Gardens, which was the perfect backdrop for her session. Everywhere we turned there were stunning plants, colorful flowers, and hidden little corners. Avery looked so natural — it was like the gardens were showing off just for her! After exploring the gardens, we headed over to Cheesman Park to slow things down a bit. The vibe there was more relaxed, with gorgeous light. It gave us the perfect mix of elegance and laid-back charm, and Avery’s personality shone through every single shot.   This session was such a fun combination of vibrant and chill, and Avery made it all look effortless. I can’t wait to share more from her senior year as one of my Influencers—she’s truly a star in front of the camera! I just l...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...
