Denver High School Senior Photography, Alli

Alli really loves art and she really wanted to do her Senior Pictures with graffiti - or along an art wall as she called them.  Which I have to agree that this kind of graffiti really is art and should be given more credit than it actually gets.  This is one of my favorite alleys, there are so many reasons why, but one of the most important is it doesn't smell bad.  When you are photographing for 30 minutes + somewhere, it is really nice that is doesn't make you gag.  And the best part of this alley is that it looks fabulous and changes over time!
Alli was delightful and very vibrant!  She was so excited to be doing pictures, which I of course loved.  And she wasn't afraid to say this is what I want!  Loved that!  So often teens are afraid to say what they want and then we are doing their viewing session they say "I really wish we had done pictures here..."  And I would have if I had known.  So it was awesome that Allie spoke up and said this is what I like and I don't like that.

She wanted a view of Denver behind her and I figured this may be the best we would get.  There was a nice shot at our second location, but there was a huge crane in the way, so I'm glad we got some here - even if it's not the real thing.

Alli and her boyfriend, I really wish I had done more.  But there is only so much time.  I had a great conversation with him about New York food which made me totally hungry!  Just thinking about garlic knots, pizza and bagels is making me hungry now!  I must find a place that makes good garlic knots!

It's always nice to have help!  And her boyfriend was definitely a lot of help (he did carry the umbrellas and some of her clothes too.)

I love this wall!  And the color with the umbrellas are so much fun!
This is by far one of my favorite walls!  I am pretty sure it will be gone soon, so I was very glad to have found it before it was painted over.
Alli really liked the rose, but not the Parking sign.  I thought it would be cute to remove the other name and put her name - a thought her boyfriend had as well!  So awesome to be with people who have similar ideas!

Her and her mom. So sweet!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
