Golden High School Senior Pictures, Adrienne

The weather couldn't have been more perfect on Adrienne's session!  It had been a hot day, but as the sun went down it started to cool off.  Which is good, because this field tends to be hot, hot, hot and full of sun.  Adrienne is so full of life and excited about so many things!  Such a joy to be around!  It was great talking to her about so many different things.

I love these images of her and her friend running through the grass!  They have known each other since (I believe, I may have forgotten this detail!) second grade.  Can you imagine??  I think I remember some of my friend's names from second grade, but I am not positive.  They both want to be Anasthesiologists.  I thought it was wonderful that they are thinking ahead of their Senior year and planning for the future, even if it doesn't work out, that planning and dreaming is awesome!

We went downtown after the field and I was so prepared with extra flashes and reflectors to make sure we had enough light.... But we really didn't need it.  And it was good because there were sooooo many people down there, I wouldn't have wanted to put a flash down and have someone trip over it.  I guess it is still summer and Larimer square was definitely working that night.  While she was changing I overheard a few conversations about all the bar hoping and bar bills people have encountered over the summer.  Ahhh.... the joys of being single and childless and having all the time in the world, but thinking you are so busy and can't go out as much as you'd like.  But when you are paying 500+ in bar bills, you have to work sometime to pay that off.  It was fun to be part of the hustle and bustle for a bit.

I really like these last two, but in color.... ewwww!  The light was so yellow!  Even with a flash, they were just so yellow!  Good thing there is black and white for such things.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
