Brighton Senior High School Portraits, Alivia in Denver

There are so many things that I dislike about this time of year, for instance getting parking tickets because I am so busy I forget to feed the meter.  And then paying $22 instead of $25 and getting a "late fee" for not paying the full amount on time.  I have now paid $75 in Denver parking tickets because of my tizzy brain.  Don't like that.  I also dislike not being able to get work done because I don't have time to sit down in front of the computer.  But what I love, is being busy!  And that I have been!  I will be very bummed when this year's Seniors fade into their Senior year and all the pictures are taken and turned in.  I feel like every year is better and better and this year definitely has been spectacular!

I was very excited about Alivia's Senior Pictures!  I photographed her sister's Senior Pictures and her sister's Wedding, so I was over the moon to be doing more for such a wonderful family.  Alivia is such a joy.  She was willing to do just about anything and with a smile on her face the entire time!  One of the things I loved about Alivia was her excitement for everything we were doing.  It was like when my kids were little and they would be so excited about new things, she definitely had that "new" excitement and wonder!  So marvelous!

I love these!  Her and her dress are so adorable!
I know this seems odd...  A PB&J truck?  But it was fabulous!  I now look at PB&J differently.  If you ever get a chance to eat here, I suggest the Blackberry-Jalapeno or the Thai PB&J!

I love these in the grass!  They are some of my favorites!

We had talked about waiting for the Trolley, but it didn't seem like it was ever coming back.  And then we got to talking and the time of the Trolley's arrival was getting so much closer.  I am so glad we waited, these are almost my favorites from the whole session!  And one of the conductor's so graciously let us borrow his hat.  I thought Alivia was going to explode with excitement!  She was so adorable about getting to wear the hat.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
