Golden Family Portraits, Carlina and Jonathan

I have known Carlina for years, she has done hair for a few Boudoir sessions I have photographed and she has done my hair for a few years now.  We have talked about doing family pictures for just about that amount of time too, but something has always come up.  I was a little nervous about the weather with all the rain we've had here in Colorado and our track record with previous sessions.  We were so lucky, there was sun, no wind and it wasn't too hot.  It was awesome!  It was really great to see her kids, I hear so much about them and see them occasionally, so I got to spend some time with them.  They were very fun!










 
 Having to be just like his sister, he had to have the umbrella.  It was adorably cute, until a paper umbrella turned into a sword or light saber around tall grasses and weeds - then it became hilarious!
 

And this was the best part!  I couldn't stop laughing - and neither could anyone else!

  I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

  Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Alex, Senior Pictures

  When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
