Denver Senior Pictures, Laura

Laura was so adorable and bubbly!  She really reminded me how fun pictures could be!  She was just a giggly, joyful teenager to be around.  And she could really pull off different smiles and serious faces so well - it did help that she had her little sister and a friend come along.  It was fun to see her and her friend as they skipped along, you could tell how close they were and they had great stories too!  It was funny when I asked how they met, they both had different stories.  It seems like lately I've had that effect on people.
I love this one!  You would never guess we were in Downtown Denver!

Again, my blue wall.  I have tried really hard not to overuse it - and I have mostly succeeded.  I really wish it was my blue wall!  I'd take care of it and use it all the time.  I may even change my business name to Blue Wall with lots of Umbrellas Photography, but it's not mine... So there are probably no name changes in my future.

It was mostly overcast for our entire session, so I was very pleased when the sun peaked out a little so I could get some back light!  Not much longer after this as I was getting in my car, it started to rain.  So awesome how this weather thing has been working out this year!  I've only had to reschedule exactly 0.5 appointments because of the weather (we did a mini session to get the yearbook image and then rescheduled a normal session for later.)  Last summer I had to reschedule because of the heat, wind, and rain numerous times.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
