Denver Wedding Photography, Julie and Corey

Julie and Corey's wedding was perfect.  As far as I could tell absolutely nothing went wrong and the day was marvelous and even had a rainbow to top it all off!  They were married at the Manor House, a location they fell in love with when they visited.  I agree, I too am in love with this site.  It is beautiful and quaint - and the staff was amazing!  The thing I loved the most about this wedding was that they thought about all the things that are "supposed" to happen on a wedding day and picked and chose what they thought was important.  Everything they did or didn't do, it was all about them and who they were.  They didn't get mired down in traditions that meant nothing to them.  I think it is so easy to get carried away with what you are "supposed" to do and loose sight of what really matters.  These two were amazing and didn't loose sight of what they wanted.

The story behind this necklace just about made me cry, there is so much history, wonderment and awesomeness in the necklace!  Julie's grandfather, who was a jeweler made it for her grandmother.  It was the first diamond he ever gave her.  I love when people have something so intimately special in their families.  It is such a special thing, something we don't always have in the land of disposable everything.  And it's absolutely stunning, which totally helps!

I love this image of her mom!  I bet she is a total spit-fire of a lady!

There were bunnies everywhere!  They must be so used to humans because they could barely be roused from their spots when we were taking pictures.

I love these two, chatting during the ceremony.  Hah!  And it must have been some good, juicy gossip too!
It was such a beautiful place for the ceremony.  Very timeless and worldly.

This was a theme with this little guy - all night long.  And I adore every shot I captured of his finger up his nose!
The awesome rainbow!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
