Broomfield Family Pictures, Erin and Andrew

I love this spot!  It has some great fields, an old barn and a lake!  It just happened to be really windy the day we did Erin and Andrew's pictures so we had to find areas where the wind wasn't as bad.  It did work out because the little ones were quite the active ones!  So, when the wind came up we walked on and they just loved exploring this area!  There was dirt, rocks and grasses to explore - they were sooo over the moon about that.  They are just so precious!
I love this one!  I was surprised we got one that looked like he was standing still!  He was jumping and moving and bobbing all around - definitely a mover and shaker!  He kept me on my toes and was so curious!  He wanted to take pictures too and I let him take a couple, it was so cute to see him squint his eyes almost all the way shut to look through the view finder!
Here's one of the pictures he took!  I think he did a great job!

So stinkin' adorable!  And all over the place!  She definitely has her brother's curiosity!  Every rock and piece of grass was something to pick up or run away from.  It totally makes me miss those early kid days when everything was new and different for them!
I couldn't resist!  Their dad was trying to make them smile and he kept saying "look at my stinky butt."  So, she stood up and showed us her stinky butt.  I took this between all the laughing!

 There were lolly-pops!

Luckily, the wind died down enough that we could take some pictures by the lake.  The kids were really done at this point, but they were nice enough to do just a few more!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
