Broomfield Family Pictures, Paige and Alex

On the day we were supposed to do Paige and Alex's pictures, it was pouring! There were angry clouds all around and it just seemed like we were going to have to do them inside. But, they said they didn't mind, it was just rain, no big deal to them. And as we started, the rain stopped just enough that we weren't all getting drenched It was awesome! I was so glad they were like it's just a little rain!

This little one!  She was so easy to get to smile!  She was the happiest little one!
Let's just ignore that Paige is licking her lips, this is what it looks like to take pictures in the rain.  The silver lining is how gorgeous all the colors are!

I love this one!

Aren't they just the cutest??

I love this one!  The little one was so excited about the umbrella and was very intent on exploring it with her tongue.

These two lovely people are the ones that really helped make this day happen!  And then they didn't want to get in the picture, I was like just a couple!  How could they not with that sweet granddaughter of theirs??
I love this one!  and by the time we took this one it was rainging a lot again.  On my way home I had to put the fast windshield wipers on, we were so lucky we did them when we did!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
