Denver Engagement Sitting, Vintage Motors with Kristen and Collin

One of the things I love LOVE most about my job, is that people like different things. And when people like different things, I get to do different things. I am so grateful that there are places like Vintage Motors, otherwise I wouldn't get to see so many cool motorcycles in one place. And I am especially grateful for fun and creative people like Kristen and Collin! They didn't want a lot of images, just them on a bike similar to the Charles and Ray Eames image of them on a bike. I did convince them to go outside and do some more, but just briefly.

I love this image, I thought about taking out the ceiling and wall.  But I liked the "acting" quality and thought having the other parts of the room added to the "set up" feel, which I totally loved.

When I first met Kristen, like 3 or 4 years ago now...  My brain is seriously distracted with that number...  Anyway, I've always thought how great it would be to photograph her!  And I cannot say how hard it was to hide my excitement when she emailed and asked if I would be interested in doing this - except that it was email.  And it is hard to express excitement without voice intonation or the visual of me jumping up and down, so really it was easy.  But what was even better was how excited they were!

 I love this image!
They are such a nice couple!  Hanging out with them for an hour kind of felt like a relaxed afternoon with friends - love it when that happens!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...
