Personal, Our wonderful trip to California

We were so lucky to go to California after the holidays and see family!  It was wonderful to see everyone, hang out and not do much of anything.  We did go to San Francisco one day and the kids had a blast!
Here are some of the kiddos on the Golden Gate Bridge.  Aidan didn't make it all the way across... A big truck came across and shook the bridge a bit, we were about a quarter of the way across.  Aidan took about 20 more steps and then he couldn't do it anymore, so he and I turned back and went to the car.

Makaela still doesn't like to have her picture taken.... not sure why, I tried not to over do picture taking when she was little... But perhaps, I did....
I got a Holga lens for Christmas and it is my new favorite toy!  Here some of the images I took with it!  I am so in love!

The kids swam a lot!  The thing that was perhaps the best about this was that there was at least 1 kid from every family that was sick.  So there were 2 from Colorado, 1 from California and 1 from either Texas or Tennessee (not positive on which state they found it in).  So it was great to see them all swim in the pool together, mix up their sicknesses, dip in the hot tub to warm it all up and then they passed it off to the adults.  Fun.  I am still fighting their concoction.  Most nights I sound like I smoked 5 packs of cigarettes that day and some days I sneeze so much I can barely breathe.  I'm sure if they were in a science fair, they would have taken first place.

This is 1 branch of my nieces and nephews.
Here is another branch of nieces.

Here would be part of my branch.  Part of our branch got left behind. I kept purchasing food for said child and I would look for him where ever we went.  Some would say I was in denial.  And I would perhaps have to agree with them.  It is very hard to get used to not having 3 kids where ever we go.  I wasn't quite prepared for just having 2 kiddos yet.
We were missing an entire branch, they had to leave the day before and we had meant to take a picture with all of them, but never got around to it.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
