Boulder Family Portraits, Ellie and her amazing loving family

I showed up to Ellie's portrait sitting with a bit of a Holiday hang-over, it seemed like I had almost forgot how to do what I do.  It had been 3 jam-packed days of finishing homemade gifts, buying gifts, trying to remember what gifts needed to be made or purchased, making food, consuming food, prepping food, trying to remember what food hadn't been purchased or had been cut from the menu....  Oh and the cookies.  That was just a disaster!  There was so much wrong there.  So with all that still lingering, I drove to Boulder, not sure if I could remember what to do.  Ellie and her family quickly snapped me out of my post-holiday funk and I was off and running!  They were so marvelous and a fabulous group to be around!

I love Maggie's face!  And she was the excited one to get her pictures taken!  She just didn't want to give in so easily.

I love the parent's faces on this one!  I think it is funny how the kids hid in the hug, but I guess that's how hugging goes!
Awww!  Cousins!  I am always intensely jealous of cousins!  My cousins are so much younger than me and I know they are better than siblings - because siblings rat you out or steal your things.  Cousins may say something to your mom and dad or borrow something, but it's different, they are aren't annoying.

They warned me that Tessa and Winnie may be more of a handful than Jack and Maggie, but I think they were just saying that.  All 4 kids were such a joy (I especially loved Winnie's pouty faces, but that's just me.)

I bet these guys had the best Holidays, just because they were all together!  They are such a lovely family.

Jack's grassed stained knees.  So had to be photographed!
If you look closely, you will observe Maggie trying to hide behind her dad's knees and the tall grasses.  Such a cutie!

I love, LOVE Tessa's idea of a family picture!  I will be hiring her for posing ideas soon.

She was going to get that ball - no matter what!
This is the start of a kid totem pole.  In future years, they won't need help holding themselves up (although that would be a great recreation with the parent's holding up taller than them teenagers.)
 Everyone loved Jack!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...
