Portrait Unveiling, Judge Wiley J. Daniel

I was so honored to photograph this event! My friend Monique painted this beautiful portrait of Judge Wiley J. Daniel and when she asked me if I could photograph the event I was over the moon. I had heard a CPR interview about him after he un-expectantly passed away. He was an amazing man and he did so much for Denver and the minority youth of Denver.

It has been such a long time since I have been in a room with so many happy people!  There was nothing I could do but smile!

This is Judge Daniel's wife and she was just a wonderful woman!  She was so proud of her husband and had some wonderful things to say about him.  You could just feel the love emanating from her and all her guests.

I was tearing up when they took the sheet off, the looks on his family’s faces were full of emotion.  It was very touching!

I wish I had known about this marvelous man before this event, he is truly inspiring!

I am so proud of Monique and all she was able to do, she always creates magic in her art.  It was so great to see her being interviewed by CPR with this great accomplishment!

I love this one of Monique!  She is so talented and absolutely amazing!  She was able to paint this painting from photographs of Judge Daniel and everyone there was so amazed at how beautifully she captured his personality.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
