Janet and Phil's Wedding

By now everyone knows how much I love (LOVE) weddings - and I think every wedding I have done is the best wedding I have been to - with the exception of everyother wedding I've been to. But sometimes I get blind sided by a wedding that I think will be simple and sweet. This was one of those weddings! I expected a very low key, simple affair - really that's what they told me it would be. Instead, it was a full out party with LOTS of dancing, affection flying all over the place and smiles everywhere you looked. I really do LOVE weddings!

Janet and Phil have been together for 10 years and obviously have enjoyed each other so thoroughly and continue to enjoy each other so much it's contagious! I had such a good time, I forgot to leave at my scheduled time.We did some formals ahead of time and Janet cracked me up! I asked her if she minded sitting on a rock and she said "This one?" Before I could respond, she was stretched out on the rock and smiling. It was great!

Forrest Whitman is a wonderful Reverend! I have done a couple of weddings with him and I am always surprised at how well he connects with the couple and the guests. He truly is a wonderful human being and I hope I get to do more weddings with him in the future.

There were so many wonderful stories about Janet and Phil and all their exploits, but one about what a wonderful father Phil is stuck with me - but first, I have to say, I have lived in Colorado my whole life and I have never once seen a bear in the wild. Phil's son had come to Colorado to go to school and he not only saw a bear, he hit one with his car... Quite amazing. Phil came to his rescue, fixed his car and sadly had to "take care" of the bear too.

Congratulations to Janet and Phil!

I'm thrilled to see some of Phil and my wedding photos! It was truly a day of joy and celebration. The photos let me relive the wedding day--and see moments and smiles I was to busy to see on my actual wedding day!
Natalie, I love your narrative!
Happily married, Janet

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
