Brighton, Co High School Senior Pictures, Hannah

Hannah is one of my daughter's friends and I was a little apprehensive about bringing my daughter as an assistant, she can be so goofy!  But it worked out great!  She just enough entertainment to make Hannah smile and laugh, not too much or too little.  There were other silly things, like the squirrel in the tree that squawked and squeaked at me with it's tail wagging like an old Aunt chewing me out for finger prints left on the glass door.  When I had been properly told off, it jumped to another branch and proceeded to convey the same message to Hannah.

Silly squirrel!  Bickering at us from way up high.
I love this one!  Her eyes look so awesome!
Silly Hannah!

I love the colors in this one!  And her eyes again!  They are so vibrant!
I love these!  Even though she fought us and begged to come out of the cold water.  We said no, not until ALL the pictures are taken!
I call this one "Hannah chasing pigeons"

I don't know how it happened, but as we were winding down the subject of Blue's Clues came up.  We, of course, had to discuss Steve vs Joe.  Steve being the obvious winner, he was the first after all.  And then as if it was perfectly normal, which it probably is for my daughter and Hannah, we broke out singing the Blue's Clues theme song.  Hannah, her mom, my daughter and I walking back to our cars in the middle of Downtown.  Singing the Blue's Clues theme song?  Yup, it happened.  If anything, I can say my job is NEVER boring!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
