Houston Wedding Photography, Amanda and Herbie

This is a much anticipated blog!  It has taken longer than usual because I went gallivanting around New Orleans right after this...  (the wedding was in Houston, my first there.  I have flown through there on my many trips to Belize for weddings, but I never got to leave the airport and feel the humidity for myself.  I will check that off my bucket list!)
So here it (finally) is!
Amanda and Herbie's wedding was amazing!  They are so in love, it was just so touching to see how much they cared for each other!  At the rehearsal dinner, I really got to see how close they are to each other and their family and friends.  It made me wish I was able to attend more rehearsal dinners!  They gave both of their moms these bracelets, it was so sweet!

I loved this little detail - all of Amanda's details were amazing!

Amanda had both her dad and step-dad put pennies in her shoes. I thought it was so special that Amanda was so sincere about honoring both of these men.  She had her step-dad walk her half way down the aisle and then he handed her off to her dad.  I thought it was a great way to allow both of them to walk her down the aisle.
 I love these of Herbie!

Isn't she gorgeous??  I love how happy she is!

The wedding was at the Centurion Palace and it was an amazing space!  I wish I lived there so I could photograph there more often!

By far, one of my best groom's first look pictures ever!

I couldn't believe how beautiful the light was!  After I took this shot, I couldn't wait to see it again.  And again!  The light held out for a some of the group formals, but unfortunately it only lasts too long.  If I could bottle it up, I would!

 I love the dancing ones!

My lovely god-parents!  And the parent's of the groom.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
