Denver Senior Picture, Jayden

When I met Jayden, I just knew there was something awesome about this young man! And it seemed like everyone else knew it too. So many people stopped to tell him how great he looked or how he was rocking his session. This never happens with boys, it does with girls, but the only other time I've had someone stop with a boy was because he had a tie and didn't know how to tie it. So a complete stranger stopped and tied his tie for him. One couple even stopped to have their picture taken with him, the woman was not so happy about it and this is why I won't be posting it because it looks like something Robert Frank would photograph (only way better!)

I love this mural!  The colors are fantastic!
He has the greatest smile!

One of the greatest things about my job is that people tell me things about themselves and I get to connect them to the photography!  Jayden said he is very interested in the Japanese culture and I was like we have to do some in front of this mural!

I'm so glad that Jayden's mom was with us.  I had told her that we could do some pictures with the trees and then I got so wrapped up with all the fun murals I forgot we had talked about that.  And that would have been a bummer because the trees were gorgeous!

Love this one! This spot was so great because we were able to find so many things from Jayden's heritage, I just love when we can make those connections.

I love these!  And I love that there were Black Lives Matter signs in the windows, I just wish they were lower so we could have done more with them.  And behind clearer glass since I'm wishing here.  But I am so thankful there were some signs, I think it is so important to have these represented.  And it is a great way to have a part of history in your senior pictures!

Love these colors!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...

Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
