Look at these two! They turning 1 and 4!

These two are about to have birthdays! I wasn't super hopeful that Azzie would cooperate for the session, she seems to hate me and always hides her face and scowls at me. But this session turned out to be one of the best! For the first time Azzie smiled for me (check out Insta, there is a great post with all her non-smiles) and I just about fell over! And now that I know how to make her smile (it just involves making her dad fall over...) it will be so much easier to photograph her!
I am so in love with this smile!  And I have worked so hard to get just 1!  And super big bonus, I got more than just the 1, I am over the moon!

What could be better than bubbles?? Unicorns of course! (Just so you know that is a unicorn she is hugging.)

We did her brother's pictures first hoping she would warm up to the idea of pictures.  Because she never likes pictures.  And to be honest I would have been happy if this image was the "one" I took of her that day!  She is smiling and having a wee bit of a good time, even if we can only see part of it.  But I am so happy with the actual smiling ones I got!  But I feel like this really where it's at with her - eyes closed, smiling at bubbles and ignoring me.

I love this one!
This little one!  He was on the move!  It made me wish I had a studio full of windows so that I could just chase him all over the place!  Toddlers + Studio Lights = lots of resetting and rapid fire camera shots!  Three quarters of the pictures I took were of this guy and half of them were of him crawling out of the frame!  And his 1 legged crawl is the cutest thing ever!
That face!  And all the blue frosting!  So exceptionally cute!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
