Brighton H.S. Senior Pictures, Tabor

When Tabor's mom called me, I had to do a double take because I did one of his sister's Senior pictures when he was in 8th grade.  I was pretty sure that his mom was mistaken and that he wasn't really a Senior, but a Sophomore.  It turns out she was right...  I couldn't believe that it had been 5 years!  Tabor was very laid back, easy going and had a great sense of humor.  Which was good, because the location we had selected had trains moving around - I thought the tracks were not used anymore.  But apparently Union Pacific is "rebuilding America" right here in Brighton - on my rail road tracks.  They've moved in these funny looking train cars and they're moving trains around like little kids with a train set.  We didn't get to do a lot of pictures on the tracks, and I definitely didn't want him sitting on the tracks in case one of those trains started barreling towards us.
I love this building, it is a wonderful background - without the trains being stored in front of it.  What are they thinking??

I don't remember exactly what was going on, maybe he was annoyed at smiling or posing, but it was like he was tempting me with this face - so of course I had to take it!

Because of the limited  places by the tracks, we decided to go somewhere else and I was really glad we did.  I loved these pictures.  I think Tabor was a little done with pictures - plus it was so very hot!  That was before all the rain we've gotten in Colorado the last couple of days.
 I love this image!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
