Angel Photography

This project was all the brain child of Camille.  She called me and asked if I would help her out on an art project - but she said I couldn't call her crazy (which she's not), I listened to her idea and I thought it sounded wonderful!  She had those fabulous angel wings and her mom had just given her the nightgown and it all just came to her.  She wanted to do it on the full moon in the morning and at night (to see the moon of course!).  We were a little apprehensive that the light wouldn't be what she wanted in the morning because I couldn't do it before 9am, which it wasn't 100%, but I love how the back lit images came out!  They just glow.  I think they came out better than if it had been earlier with flatter light.
Camille found the swing while she was walking her dogs near Sloan's Lake, went up asked the owner if she could use it and they graciously said go ahead.  It was the perfect swing for these pictures (and so much fun to swing on!)  And great entertainment for the neighbors, one person driving by actually stopped and took some pictures too.

Here are the night-time shots, I was really bummed.  I had pictured her bathed in the sunset light with a huge moon rising behind her - it looks fabulous in my head.  But there were too many clouds and trees for the sunset light and too many clouds on the horizon to see the big moon.  So we had to wait until the moon peaked through the clouds to get anything.  I even tried adding a sunset like filter in Photoshop, but the images are too blue for the warmer color.

I love this image.  I think I may add some lights or stars on either side of her.

We did some in her back yard and by then the moon was above the clouds and we got the best shots!

I love the crown she made herself!  It's made out of Marigold's.  The orange is just stunning!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Sage's Senior Pictures, Boulder

When I first showed up for Sage’s senior session, I just knew it was going to be something special. She was a little shy at first, but right away I could tell what a sweet and genuine young lady she is. And once she warmed up, she started to shine—it was such a joy to capture! The locations she chose were absolutely perfect, and they fit her so well. And then, as if the day knew how amazing Sage is, the sun came out just for her. It had been hiding behind the clouds for quite a while, but suddenly it burst through, lighting up her gorgeous hair and giving everything this beautiful, glowy warmth. It honestly felt magical, and I couldn’t have been more excited. Photographing Sage was such an honor. She’s kind, authentic, and absolutely radiant—I just adored every moment of her session! She has the greatest smile! I love these in the water!  It was such a beautiful day! I love this one!  It is just magical! Her and her brother are so cute! I love these in the grasses!...

Grace Senior Pictures, Boulder Co

Sometimes the best things are worth the wait—and Grace’s senior session was definitely one of those moments. After rescheduling thanks to Colorado’s unpredictable rain (seriously, the rain wasn’t acting the way it’s supposed to!), we finally landed the most beautiful day . There was just the right amount of sparkle in the air—it was perfect. Grace is such a delightfully beautiful young lady, inside and out. Her energy is gentle but radiant, and from the moment she showed up, she was so excited to be in front of the camera. That kind of enthusiasm? It’s contagious—and honestly, I was just as excited as she was! We had a great time exploring by the creek, Chautauqua and the top of Flagstaff   Mountain and soaking in that golden light, and creating portraits that felt so her. And then…I brought out the mylar. 😄 I had this fun, artsy idea to play with reflections and light using sheets of mylar—something a little different, a little sparkly, and totally dreamy. Turns out...
