Brighton Portrait Photography, Jared and Avery

As always, I love the unique relationship between siblings, even if it seems typical, there are some unique traits. And I am always amazed that I am not the only parent that has to deal with all the squabbling.  Jared and Avery, although there is a large age difference, had a few "moments."  I don't know that Avery noticed them so much, she was too busy moving onto the next thing.  But Jared would get annoyed that she wasn't paying attention or cooperating, I really think he wanted the photography part to just be over!  I hated to torture him so much!  I hope he didn't have too bad a time, he was very quiet (especially next to his very vivacious sister!), but when he did talk, he was a great conversationalist and very polite too.  The two of them just made me giggle - her with her whirlwind personality and Jared being very quiet.
The product of too many instructions, stickers in the shoes and a log to be walked on... these do not make for great photos, but they make for funny ones.

Can you see the love??  So cute!
I love these of Avery!  She looks so fantastic with the color of the grasses and the tree.

I really wanted both of them in the water, but since Avery didn't take the same Environmental Science class Jared took, so she was willing to get in the water (I did tell her to make sure a shower when she got home).  Jared was not so game.  I really love her excitement and expressions!
Jared did venture in.  With his shoes on.  And not for long.

I really liked these on the river bed!  They really are so sweet together!

I love this image of Jared!  He is a very handsome young man!

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
