Holly and her magical dress

Holly wanted to do pictures for her birthday, which I was like of course you should/would/could want that - EVERYONE should do this! It is liberating and amazing! Yes, I have done it. But just the one time. And I think I should do it more often! I am so thankful to Holly for wanting to do this! And what a bad ass she is! On top of being a total bad ass, she rented a designer dress and looked AMAZING!

I absolutely loved everything about this session!  Holly is so confident and marvelous!  Even on one of her bad days, she has a secureness that is inspirational!  Her beliefs and general compass are so secure.  I love that for her!  I would love that every woman could feel this way.  They deserve it!

And yup, that skateboarder biffed it.  And no, I didn’t feel bad.  I had to photoshop him out of so many photos because he was so aware of where I was and kept inserting himself in the photo.  I don’t want him to have broken a bone, but it would have been nice if he slipped me $50 to pay for his photoshop removal.  Whatever his reasons, he did not belong in these photos.  They weren’t about him.  I kept moving so that he could skate and not be in the photo, but that wasn’t good enough for him.  He just had to be in the photos. And like I said, it wasn’t about him.

Elli, Senior Pictures

I was so excited for this session — my very first full Senior Session! These types of sessions are always my favorite!   It means I am getting back to work and there is always something so special about capturing a person right on the edge of everything new. And with Elli, I knew it was going to be a great one. From the moment we started planning, her energy and excitement made it clear: this was going to be one for the books. And it was — even with the weather throwing us a little curveball. About halfway through the session, the skies opened up and we had to pause for a solid 45 minutes. But honestly? Even that didn’t take away from how amazing the day was. The rain gave us a chance to slow down, laugh, and reset — and when we got going again, everything felt a little more magical - and the lighting post-rain? Gorgeous!   I was hoping for a rainbow, but sadly we missed that! Elli is such a joy to be around. She’s incredibly sweet, the kind of person who makes y...

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Alex, Senior Pictures

When I talked to Alex's mom, she said he really didn't want to do pictures and she thought the best thing to do was to do family pictures and then sneak some senior pictures in.  I don't usually do that, but I figured that she knew how he would be the most comfortable and what would be the most successful.    I am so glad that we did it this way, she was definitely right!  I hope Alex at least had a decent time, but I could tell that he was not really into it - maybe if I'd had another hour with him....  just kidding, I think that would have made him super anxious!  I just hope in the future he keeps allowing himself to be photographed for those he loves.  Because even though he didn't want to do it, he did a great job and didn't complain at all.                                                 ...
