Lexi and Pat's Getting Ready

When my niece got engaged, I was so excited for them! When she asked me to photograph her wedding, I really REALLY wanted to! I mean it was in California on top of a hill with gorgeous views! Of course I wanted to photograph their wedding! But I also really wanted to be aunt and be able to soak in all the love and participate in everything! And I really wanted to dance a lot! It was a really hard decision! One I had already made with my nephew, so I thought it would be easier than it was. But then somehow, the idea of me photographing getting ready came up and I was even more excited! Getting ready is one of my favorite parts of the wedding day! Everyone is so excited and it is always the most chill part of the day. I absolutely love getting ready! And Lexi and Pat had a wonderful getting ready morning. It was so relaxed and fun! It was absolutely wonderful to see them hanging out with their friends and feel all the love!

I flew to Oregon to do their engagement pictures (and bring them some Mr and Mrs Rubber Duckys too!) and even then there was so much talk about the dress.  I was trying to encourage them to do a first look, but Pat was adamant that he didn’t want to see the dress until Lexi walked down the aisle.  And here is where I am sad I put my camera away, because Pat was all tears and full of emotion when he saw Lexi.  The photographer was on the other side of Pat getting pictures of Lexi, which is where you would expect him to be.  I really wish I had had the foresight to keep my camera and just keep photographing for like 2 minutes more.  I really hope the photographer got some of that somehow (we are magical beings in case you didn’t know J)  Because that is so Pat and so them.   Maybe I will learn to paint and paint that memory for them…

One of the bridesmaids had a 4 month old and he was hands down the most popular one there!  He was just the cutest!

I adore my niece so much!  Every time we are together is never long enough.

I was lucky enough to hang out with the guys and do some formals.  I was hoping to get to do that with Lexi too, but I didn’t.  A little bummed about that.  But Pat and his groomsmen were so much fun!

Absolutely love how this dissolved from looking like bad asses to this!  This is why I love them all so much!

My brother-in-law and nephews created and 3D printed these dragon eggs, all with little dragons inside!  It was the greatest wedding center pieces ever!  And each table got to keep a dragon and some people got to keep eggs (I have two!  Only because my grandkids were there and they obviously needed one – or two because they don’t know how to share.)  Even the staff at the venue was like those are amazing, I was like right?!??  Now I wish I had done more with the egg, dragons and the rings… all the ideas I have now!

The dragons!  And they move too!

Tanner's Senior Pictures, Boulder

This young man! He is fantastic! I loved that he knew what he wanted and we were able to find some marvelous spots!  Look at those colors!  They were so amazing!   I did Tanner's  sisters senior pictures  a few years ago and these two are just wonderful kids!  I really love working with their family!  They are just wonderful people! I love this one! I just love this one of these two! We were done and on the way back to the car when I saw the sky and I was I like we have to do more!  I ran to my car, got a light and we did a few more pictures! I love this one! I absolutely love this shirt!  It is so awesome! Cecilia, Andrew and their adorable children. Oh and a few alpacas. Franktown, Co

Photographing with alpacas has been sooooo much fun! They are just adorable, sweet and have the cutest faces! And this family made it so much more enjoyable! These kids are downright adorable! And full of such personality - I was in love!   These kids!  Their reactions to the alpacas were just adorable!  There's a video on instagram about it too, I encourage you to go check it out!  So cute! Those sweaters!  They were so cute!  Hopefully they were warm because it was cold that day!  And out in the field with all the snow was so much cooler!  But those kids were amazing leaving their jackets off while we took pictures!  I personally would have frozen and just fallen over without my jacket! I love LOVE this light!  If the kids hadn't been warmly bundled in a wagon, I would have thrown them in to the image too, but to make them get out in the cold was a little cruel.   For more information on High School Seniors, Portraits and Weddings...

Tim and Rachel, Hudson Gardens

Tim and Rachael come highly recommended from the people who them to me. I always love these cross connections to people and then I get to see them through their friends eyes. I have always adored the people who gave Tim the recommendation and then hearing him and his kids talk about them made me more fond of them. Photography really is a special gift to everyone, including the photographer! Tim and Rachel showed up a little early to do just their pictures and it was a good they did!  By the time the grandkids arrived, there was craziness all around!  I love how these two care about each other!  It was so apparent in how they were with each other and that just makes me so happy! Uhhhhhh.... trying to get 2 cousins who adore each other in movement is not an easy thing to get them to sit!  From the beginning to the end of attempting to capture these 3 together, it was 3 minutes and that included some rearranging.  For adults that's fast, but for toddlers that's an ...
