Maggie Senior Pictures

I know that things happen for a reason, but sometimes it’s still nerve-racking when things don’t seem to be going right. Traffic was really bad and so we started 15 minutes late, and at the time it didn’t seem like it would be a big issue. At one point I looked at my watch and I was like OK we need to start heading to the second location and I was like the timing is perfect! So we turned around to start heading to the second location. And then I took a few more poses and the next thing I knew 30 minutes slipped through my fingers, and now we were late leaving. On the way, I remembered that last light does not last for 45 minutes anymore, it's much shorter, like 25 minutes. So I was starting to panic more. There were also these heavy clouds... we didn’t get a good sunset, and we didn’t get good colors in the sky and it just seemed like things weren’t going my way for the end of the session. And then the swan boats that they have at City Park were reflecting off the pond and I knew it all happened for a good reason! They were so extra amazing and I was like this is what I needed to see! Eeeek! I was so excited!

Maggie was such a dream!  She was just so great at posing, she had great smiles and serious faces!  She was just amazing! And even though she was super quiet, she was just super sweet!

Maggie had sent me images of mine that she liked and almost all of them had this beautiful back light, which is hard to control!  I had picked the time of day that it mostly works in, but if there are clouds it is really hard to get.  But I knew I really wanted to make that happen for her!  And of course, the day we did it, there were clouds.  But we still got these beautiful moments where the sun came through and made her hair look like gold!

This girls hair!  It is fantastically marvelous!

By the time we got to City Park, the sun was almost fully hidden in the thick clouds.  I was really panicking!  And even with my extra lights, I knew it was a serious race to total darkness!

But these boats!  And the fountain!  I don’t know if I have ever been so excited to see something so beautiful!  I just hope that this exceeds her expectations of light!  Because it was beautiful!

I really have to give Maggie so much credit for being such a great sport and doing such a fantastic job in low light!  She was amazing!  She didn’t seemed stressed or upset at the circumstances!  I am so thankful for her very laid back attitude! And she just looks amazing here!

Cecilia, Andrew and their adorable children. Oh and a few alpacas. Franktown, Co

Photographing with alpacas has been sooooo much fun! They are just adorable, sweet and have the cutest faces! And this family made it so much more enjoyable! These kids are downright adorable! And full of such personality - I was in love!   These kids!  Their reactions to the alpacas were just adorable!  There's a video on instagram about it too, I encourage you to go check it out!  So cute! Those sweaters!  They were so cute!  Hopefully they were warm because it was cold that day!  And out in the field with all the snow was so much cooler!  But those kids were amazing leaving their jackets off while we took pictures!  I personally would have frozen and just fallen over without my jacket! I love LOVE this light!  If the kids hadn't been warmly bundled in a wagon, I would have thrown them in to the image too, but to make them get out in the cold was a little cruel.   For more information on High School Seniors, Portraits and Weddings...

Tim and Rachel, Hudson Gardens

Tim and Rachael come highly recommended from the people who them to me. I always love these cross connections to people and then I get to see them through their friends eyes. I have always adored the people who gave Tim the recommendation and then hearing him and his kids talk about them made me more fond of them. Photography really is a special gift to everyone, including the photographer! Tim and Rachel showed up a little early to do just their pictures and it was a good they did!  By the time the grandkids arrived, there was craziness all around!  I love how these two care about each other!  It was so apparent in how they were with each other and that just makes me so happy! Uhhhhhh.... trying to get 2 cousins who adore each other in movement is not an easy thing to get them to sit!  From the beginning to the end of attempting to capture these 3 together, it was 3 minutes and that included some rearranging.  For adults that's fast, but for toddlers that's an ...
